The Whittlesea Show is conducted by the Whittlesea Agricultural Society. In 2011 the Society will celebrate its 152nd year. The Whittlesea Agricultural Society is a dedicated band of volunteers who work throughout the year to put on the Show.
The Whittlesea Show began as a fair in 1859 and has grown to become one of the best Shows in Victoria and is a signature event in the Whittlesea Community Calendar with large crowds flocking to the Show each year. The Whittlesea Show brings the best of country life and enables people of all ages to share and recognize the history and heritage of the Whittlesea Community and the WAS.
We have fourth and fifth generation members of the founding families still actively involved in conducting the Annual Show, either as Office Bearers, Members, Superintendents and Stewards or as Volunteers.
With heaps of free activities and entertainment, there is nothing like the value of the Whittlesea Show.
Animals and Livestock - A traditional Agricultural Show and a visit to the Animal Nursery is a must. Also on show are Cattle, Sheep, Horses and Showjumping.
Around the grounds you will also see Woodchopping, the Fun Dog Show, a very comprehensive Vintage Display, Highland Dancing, Heritage Displays, a Circus with free entry, the Ag Artwear competition, Star News Group Grand Parade with lots of free entertainment.
There are numerous Sponsorship options available to you which I would only be happy to discuss further. Minimum cost is $100.
One option in particular is Naming Rights Sponsorship at a cost of $2000. This would offer you a great deal of exposure and for this amount of money you would receive:
- Your logo would appear against the section you have sponsored.
- Logo would be in the Show Schedule which goes out to all Members and Entrants (approximately 12,000)
- PA Announcements during the 2 days of the Show
- Support Our Sponsors Booklet which goes out to all members (800)
- Information on website
- Hyperlink to your website on WAS website
- Tickets
- Car Passes
- Access to the Sponsorship Tent for a drink or rest during the 2 days of the Show
- Show Map
- Trade Space Option - minimum of $250 for an unpowered site.
- Additional advertising is also available in our local newspaper pull-out guide.
Many local and metropolitan businesses and organisations support the Society with sponsorship.
